Teacher of Sociology Vacancy

Our School > Vacancies

We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Sociology to start in September 2024 on a full time permanent basis.

We are looking for a highly effective teacher who is optimistic in approach and committed to enabling students to make the best progress possible. The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range but will mainly focus on KS5. The ability to also teach Psychology would be desirable; willingness to develop knowledge in this area is essential.

In return, we offer a warm and friendly school where teachers and students have positive working relationships. All our staff benefit from Health and Wellbeing services including GP access, physiotherapy, counselling and menopause support.

The sociology curriculum is currently taught within the Humanities suite of subjects. The Humanities Faculty consists of Geography, History and Ethics and Philosophy at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, with Politics, Psychology and Sociology being offered at Key Stage 5. Sociology is a popular A level subject as is Psychology. The successful applicant will join a committed, collaborative, forward thinking and highly successful team situated within its own humanities area. The humanities are hugely popular with the school’s students and the school offers a very personal and professionally supportive environment.

This post is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher.
